Interesting behavioural insight - 82.9kg

I went into Manchester on Saturday night. Had a great time and was not tempted (by alcohol) once. It was noticed that even though I was not drinking beer, I was still knocking the drinks back, it was mostly either pints of tonic water or soda water. So this compulsion to drink quickly is possibly being driven by the desire for alcohol, but maybe more a habit formed with cold drinks in my hand regardless. I must see if there is any other evidence of this and what it could lead to. I am not too worried about it given that my choice of drink at the moment is tonic water which is not too laden with sugar, but it is interesting none-the-less. I plan to have two more meetings this week then take stock of where I am with that. I'm continuing to read the book and the stories in it, there is a pattern of messages in there which are helping. Healthy Ralph

It is a while since I posted anything up, feel like I have lots to say but where to start. Here are a few highlights: 1. Been maintaining my weight at between 80 and 84kg consistently for 2 years now. Currently at 80.6kg. I still weigh pretty much every day 2. Running regularly but not obsessively at the moment, I keep running with my friend L which makes for slower and more enjoyable runs. 3. Been focusing on my mental health with much mindfulness, buddhism and happiness practices 4. My llife is more balanced, with changes at home, with S and L, T and E. 5. Drink is no longer a part of my life, I will never go back to that old life I will post more details at some point soon.

November Goals

Here are my goals for the coming month: 1. Get weight stable at about 81kg 2. Run at least 4 times a week, and do at least 20 miles a week 3. Try to ascend 5000m with my running - this will be tough - need to get at least 4000m though 4. Keep a close eye on alcohol - rather than set a limit I thought I'd just monitor and record everything I drink instead, then report back at end of month. Using iphone to take photographic record of everything I drink. 5. Follow the 100 pushups program - by end of month aim to be able to do 45 pressups in one go 6.
